# App Opens Chrome Browser Instead of Staying in BuyerKiosk

If tapping buttons or links in the BuyerKiosk app causes it to open the Chrome browser and leave the app, your tablet is running an outdated version of BuyerKiosk that needs to be updated. Follow the steps below to get the latest version installed.

> **Important: Do NOT uninstall the BuyerKiosk app!** Uninstalling makes the problem worse and requires approximately 30 minutes of reconfiguration to fix. Simply follow the update steps below instead.

---

## Why This Happens

Older versions of the BuyerKiosk app handle certain actions by opening them in an external browser instead of keeping everything inside the app. The current version of BuyerKiosk resolves this by handling all navigation internally. Updating to the latest version will fix the issue.

## How to Fix It

Since app updates are distributed through a managed Google Play group, we need to know which Google account is signed in on your tablet so we can add it to the correct update group.

### Step 1: Find the Google Account on the Tablet

1. Open the **Settings** app on your Android tablet (the gear icon)
2. Scroll down and tap **Google**
3. At the top of the screen, you will see the **Google email address** the tablet is signed into
4. Write down or take a screenshot of this email address

> **Tip:** If you see multiple Google accounts listed, note all of them -- we will determine which one is linked to the Play Store.

### Step 2: Open a Support Chat

Go to **support.buyerkiosk.com** and start a support chat with the following information:

- Your store name and location
- The Google email address from Step 1
- A brief description of the issue (e.g., "App keeps opening Chrome when I tap buttons")

### Step 3: Wait for Our Response

Our team will add your Google account to the appropriate update group. We should be able to do it in just a few minutes. The updated app will then become available through the Google Play Store on your tablet.

### Step 4: Update the App

After you receive confirmation:

1. Open the **Settings** app on your tablet
2. Tap **Apps** (or **Apps & notifications** depending on your device)
3. Find and tap **BuyerKiosk** in the app list
4. Tap **Update** or **App details** to access the update screen
5. Install the update and reopen the app
6. Verify that it no longer opens Chrome

> **Tip:** BuyerKiosk is not listed in the Google Play Store search results. You must access the update through the app's settings page as described above.
