# Schedule Panel -- Team Schedule

## What Is the Schedule Panel?

The Schedule Panel is a sidebar on the right side of your workspace that shows who is scheduled to work today. It displays each team member as an avatar with their shift time and clock-in status, giving you an at-a-glance view of your team for the day.

## Where to Find It

The Schedule Panel appears in two places:

1. **Workbook View** -- As a panel in Row 2 of the Workbook dashboard (left side)
2. **Right Sidebar** -- As a collapsible panel on the right edge of the workspace (when scheduling is enabled for your store)

## Reading the Schedule

### Employee Avatars

Each scheduled employee is shown as an avatar with:

- **Photo or Initials** -- Their profile photo, or their initials (e.g., "JD" for Jane Doe) if no photo is set
- **Status Dot** -- A colored indicator showing their current clock status
- **Name** -- Their first name displayed below the avatar (visible in expanded mode)
- **Shift Time** -- Their scheduled start and end time (e.g., "9:00 AM - 5:00 PM")
- **Note Icon** -- A small sticky note icon appears if there are shift notes for this employee

### Status Colors

The colored dot on each avatar tells you the employee's current status:

| Color | Status | Meaning |
|-------|--------|---------|
| **Green** | Clocked In | Currently working their shift |
| **Gray** | Clocked Out | Shift has ended, they have clocked out |
| **Yellow** | On Break | Currently on a break |
| **Red** | Late | Shift was supposed to start, but they have not clocked in yet |
| **Blue** | Not Started | Shift has not started yet (upcoming) |

### Team Count

The badge next to "Team" in the panel header shows the total number of employees scheduled for today.

## Panel Actions

### Header Buttons

| Button | Icon | What It Does |
|--------|------|-------------|
| **View Full Schedule** | Calendar icon | Opens a modal with the complete schedule view, including shift details |
| **Collapse/Expand** | Chevron icon | Toggles the panel between expanded and collapsed modes |

### Footer

At the bottom of the panel you will see:

- **Last Updated** timestamp -- When the schedule data was last refreshed
- **Refresh** button -- Click to force an immediate refresh of the schedule data from your scheduling provider

### Employee Quick Actions

Click on any employee avatar to open a quick-action menu. Available actions depend on your permissions and may include viewing their shift details or shift notes.

## Schedule Providers

The Schedule Panel pulls data from your store's scheduling provider. BuyerKiosk supports:

- **WhenIWork** -- If your store uses WhenIWork for scheduling
- **Homebase** -- If your store uses Homebase for scheduling

The schedule data is cached for performance. If you make changes in your scheduling app and do not see them reflected immediately, use the **Refresh** button to force a re-sync.

## Panel States

The Schedule Panel handles several states gracefully:

- **Loading** -- Shows a spinner with "Loading team..." while data is being fetched
- **Empty** -- Displays "No one scheduled today" if no shifts are found for the current date
- **Error** -- Shows "Unable to load schedule" with a **Retry** button if the data fails to load
- **Populated** -- Shows the full employee list with avatars and status indicators

## Date-Specific Schedules

When you use the Workbook's date navigation (the left/right arrows in the Workbook header), the Schedule Panel updates to show the schedule for the selected date. Click **Today** to return to the current day's schedule.

## Tips

- **Check the schedule first thing** when you open the Workbook to know who is on your team today
- **Watch for red (Late) indicators** -- if someone's shift should have started and they are showing as late, you may need to follow up
- **Use the full schedule view** (calendar icon) for a more detailed look at shift times and positions
- **The panel collapses** to save space -- in collapsed mode, you can still see avatar icons and click them for quick actions
