The Audit History page provides a complete log of every schedule-related action in your store. Track who made changes, when they were made, and what was affected — essential for accountability, compliance, and troubleshooting.

## Getting There

Navigate to **Scheduling** > **Audit History** from the admin sidebar, or use the side navigation panel on any scheduling page and click **Audit History**.

## Interface Layout

| Area | Purpose |

| **Audit Log Table** | Chronological list of all schedule actions |
| **Pagination** | Navigate through large result sets |

## Filtering the Audit Log

### Date Range

Set the **Start Date** and **End Date** to narrow results to a specific time period. By default, the page shows the last 30 days.

### Action Type

Use the **Action Type** dropdown to filter by specific actions:

| Action Type | What It Captures |
|-------------|-----------------|
| **All Actions** | Everything (default) |
| **Shift Created** | New shifts added to the schedule |
| **Shift Updated** | Changes to existing shifts (time, employee, position) |
| **Shift Deleted** | Removed shifts |
| **Schedule Published** | When the schedule was made visible to employees |
| **Schedule Unpublished** | When the schedule was reverted to draft |
| **Punch Edited** | Manual changes to clock-in/out times |
| **Punch Added** | Manually added time punches |
| **Punch Deleted** | Removed time punches |
| **Timesheet Approved** | Timesheet approval actions |
| **Timesheet Unlocked** | When approved timesheets were reopened |
| **Request Approved** | Time-off, swap, or override approvals |
| **Request Denied** | Denied requests |
| **Availability Changed** | Employee availability updates |

### Search

Type in the **Search** field to find entries by employee name, manager name, or details.

### Applying Filters

1. Set your desired date range, action type, and/or search terms
2. Click `Apply Filters` to update the results
3. Click `Clear` to reset all filters to defaults

## Audit Log Columns

| Column | Description |
|--------|-------------|
| **Date/Time** | Exact timestamp of the action |
| **Action** | Type of change (e.g., "Shift Created", "Punch Edited") |
| **Actor** | The manager or system that made the change |
| **Employee** | The team member affected by the change |
| **Details** | Specifics of the change (old value, new value, notes) |

## Exporting Audit Data

Click `Export CSV` to download the filtered audit log as a CSV file. The export includes all visible columns and respects your current filters.

Use cases for export:
- **Payroll audits** — Document all punch edits for a pay period
- **Compliance records** — Maintain records of schedule changes for labor law compliance
- **Dispute resolution** — Provide evidence of schedule changes in employee disputes

## Common Use Cases

### Investigating a Punch Edit

1. Set the date range to the pay period in question
2. Filter by **Action Type**: "Punch Edited"
3. Search for the employee's name
4. Review who made the change, when, and the before/after values

### Tracking Schedule Publish History

1. Filter by **Action Type**: "Schedule Published"
2. See when each week's schedule was published and by whom
3. Verify that schedules are being published on time

### Reviewing Time-Off Approvals

1. Filter by **Action Type**: "Request Approved" or "Request Denied"
2. Review the approval pattern for fairness and consistency

- **Review regularly** — Check the audit log weekly to stay aware of schedule changes
- **Export before payroll** — Download audit data for the pay period as a backup record
- **Investigate anomalies** — Unexpected punch edits or frequent overrides may indicate process issues
- **Use for training** — Show new managers how actions are tracked to encourage careful decision-making
