# Sync Log

The sync log shows each attempt to create or post QuickBooks journal entries. It is the first place to look when a customer asks whether a day synced.

## What a Sync Log Row Shows

Each row represents a sync attempt or posting event.

Common columns include:

- Business date.
- Status.
- Source.
- Journal entry number or QuickBooks document link.
- Error message when a sync fails.
- Created and updated timestamps.

## Statuses

| Status | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| Pending | The job has been queued or staged. |
| Posting | The system is currently posting to QuickBooks. |
| Posted | QuickBooks accepted the journal entry. |
| Failed | The sync failed and needs review. |
| Skipped | The system did not post because conditions were not met. |

## Filters

Use filters to find a specific day or status.

Good troubleshooting filters:

- Date range for the customer-reported day.
- Failed status.
- Pending status.
- Manual sync source.

## Troubleshooting from the Sync Log

If a row failed:

1. Read the error message.
2. Check account mappings if the error mentions missing or invalid accounts.
3. Check the approval queue if the entry is staged but not posted.
4. Reconnect QuickBooks if the error mentions authentication.
5. Retry only after the underlying issue is fixed.
